Financial Aid
Application for financial aid must be made by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) available from high school counselors or by writing the Admissions Office at Grace Bible College. To receive full consideration for financial aid, the FAFSA should be submitted by Michigan prospective Freshmen no later than February 15th and all others by March 1st.

Scholarships
A recipient of a GBC institutional scholarship must be enrolled full-time on GBC's campus. If recipient is not enrolled in a dual degree program and is taking a class(es) at GRCC, the scholarship will be prorated.
Honors Scholarship
This award is given to incoming freshmen only according to their High School GPA and ACT composite.

Returning Student Scholarship
The Honors Scholarship for freshmen is replaced by this scholarship for returning students.
The criteria for receiving this award is based on the student’s final GPA for the year, chapel attendance and ministry requirements.
Transfer Academic Scholarship
If you have earned under 15 credits then scholarship amount will be based on the High school Academic Award.

Awana Citation Achievers Scholarship: $1,200 ($600 per semester) This scholarship is for an incoming student who has received this citation. Recipient must be enrolled full time on GBC campus.
Christian Workers' Scholarship: A partial tuition scholarship for GBC classes is available to dependent children enrolled as full-time students of parents who are either full-time: a) GBC faculty and staff, b) pastors of GGF affiliated churches or pastors ordained by the GGF who are pastoring Grace churches (in GGF directory), or c) GGF missionaries who are active in ministry.
Eligible students living at home receive a scholarship of $2,500 per academic year and those living in residence halls and on the food plan, receive a scholarship of $5,000 per academic year. Those receiving government financial aid cannot receive this scholarship if it is in excess of their need level as determined through the FAFSA.
After the fourth semester, a student must have earned an accumulative GPA of 2.00 to remain eligible for this scholarship. A student who marries retains eligibility only if he or she continues at GBC on a full-time basis without interruption.
Non-GGF Full-time Christian Ministry Scholarship: This scholarship program is intended to provide financial assistance to students from families of non-GGF full-time Christian ministry workers whose primary income is from their Christian ministry. Eligible students living in the dorm and on the food plan will receive a scholarship of $2,500 per academic year. No discount would be allowed for students living off campus and not on food plan.
Early Application Scholarship:A $500 scholarship ($250 per semester) is awarded to all entering students who submit their application on or before July 1st prior to their senior year in high school.
Music Scholarship: A $4,000 scholarship ($500 per semester) for students in the music degree programs. This scholarship is available to entering music students based on a typewritten essay and live audition or videotape performance demonstrating musical proficiency. Entry deadline is March 15. Scholarships will be awarded one year at a time and renewed according to criteria set by the Music Division.
State of Michigan Competitive Scholarship: For Michigan residents in non-religious degree programs, by competition. ACT test must be taken by the beginning of one's senior year. Need is determined through FAFSA. See high school guidance counselor for further information.
Michigan Merit Award Scholarship (MEAP): For Michigan students based on achievement as demonstrated by performance on Michigan's standards assessment tests.
Spouses of Married Students: Spouses of full-time students with Junior standing or above are eligible to take one course each semester without cost.
Full-Time GBC Faculty and Staff Members and Their Spouses: May elect one course each semester without tuition and may take additional courses at reduced costs.
Loans
Federal Stafford Student Loans: These loans are available to students enrolled at least half-time.
The annual maximum for a first-year student is currently $5500. Eligibility is determined through the FAFSA and the student must be certified eligible by the College.

Federal PLUS Loans: Available to parents with a good credit history to pay the education expenses for a child who is a dependent undergraduate student enrolled at least half-time. Eligibility is determined through the FAFSA and the student must be certified eligible by the College. See GBC's Financial Aid Office for an application.
IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A STAFFORD STUDENT OR PARENT PLUS LOAN YOU MUST COMPLETE THESE STEPS:
1) Click on the “entrance counseling webpage” link listed below and complete using
Grace Bible College’s and your information. Your Student Stafford Loans will not disburse without completion of your entrance counseling.
2) Click on the "Student/Stafford/Parent PLUS/Alternative Loan Application" to select the appropriate loan. Stafford limits are listed above and should be stated in award letters if eligible.
3) Electronically sign and submit your application and Master Promissory Note (MPN) stating your understanding
that this is a loan and must be repaid. You will be prompted to do this at the end of step 2.

You do not need to complete this if you have previously undergone entrance counseling as a returning student. You can contact the financial aid office if you are not sure about your status. Grants
Michigan Tuition Grant: For Michigan students in non-religious degree programs only. Need is determined through FAFSA application.
Michigan Tuition Incentive Program (TIP): Grant available to Michigan students who apply before high school graduation, are under the age of 20 and receive Medicaid.
Federal Pell Grant: Available to those who meet requirements. Need is determined through FAFSA.
Federal ACG Grant: Available for students graduating from High School with confirmed completion of rigorous coursework. The student must also be PELL eligible. Need is determined through FAFSA.
Federal Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (FSEOG): Available to those who meet need requirements. Need is determined through FAFSA.
Grace Bible College Grants: A limited amount of grants are awarded to students on the basis of determined financial need. FAFSA, and/or GBC scholarship application form required.
Financial Aid Sources
Federal Work-Study Program: On-campus employment is available through federal funds for those who meet need requirements. FAFSA is used in determining need.
Michigan Work:Study Program—On-campus employment is available to Michigan students who meet the State of Michigan requirements. FAFSA is used in determining need.
Veterans Benefits:Grace Bible College cooperates with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for the training of honorably discharged service members. Veterans who wish to use the benefits should obtain the necessary forms from the nearest office of Veterans Affairs or GBC's Registrar. Veterans will be reimbursed directly by the Department of Veterans Affairs and should plan to pay their account in accordance with GBC's payment schedule.
Vocational Rehabilitation: Applicants with a service-oriented disability handicap should contact the nearest office of Vocational Rehabilitation to learn what assistance is available to them. Benefits are determined according to individual need.
Employment: Working one's way through college provides valuable opportunities for experiencing good use of time and responsible management of personal finances. Many part-time work opportunities are available within walking distance of the campus. Additionally, many students work on campus in the offices, maintenance department, athletic center, library, bookstore, and food service. These positions are filled on the basis of need and ability.

Notification of rights under FERPA
Grace Bible College's policy governing privacy and release of student records is in compliance with the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act.
The College has designated the following personally identifiable information as publishable information:

A student may restrict the release of publishable information by notifying the Office of the Registrar. To restrict information from any printed or publicly available document or information source, a student must contact the Office of the Registrar before final registration of the Fall semester. Students have the right to inspect their education records within 45 days after submitting a request; seek amendment of the records they believe to be inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of their privacy rights; consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in their records, except to the extent that the law authorizes disclosure without consent; and file a complaint concerning alleged failures of GBC to comply with the law. One exception which permits disclosure without consent is disclosure to school officials with legitimate educational interests who have access to all official records on students. Otherwise, determinations as to whether there is a need to know shall be made by the office which has primary responsibility for maintaining the information.
